List of Winners
Sir Albert Einstein had once said, "Bear in mind, that the wonderful things you learn in your school are the work of many generations. All this is put in your hand as your inheritance in order that you may receive it, honour it, add to it and one day faithfully hand it on to your children."
In St. Thomas School teachers are more than just tutors they are friends, parents and also guides to students, helping them find their direction to swim in this vast ocean of eternal knowledge. To bring forth every child’s hidden talent our school provides ample opportunities, one of them being House Week Celebration wherein they can showcase and develop their cultural calibre and abilities.
We know that ‘Green Colour’ signifies prosperity and happiness, we tried to incorporate this into the theme of our cultural program. This year the green house celebrated its weeklong program from 22nd April, 2019 (Monday) to 27th April 2019(Saturday). The students were able to present their talents with great zeal and enthusiasm. The whole week went by full of exciting programmes with wonderful performances by our students.
For the last day that is the "Green House Day" the auditorium was especially decorated very beautifully and artistically by the student volunteers under the guidance of teachers in charge. The Green House Day as inaugurated by lighting of the lamp by the Principal Rev. Sibu Abraham, Vice Principal Mrs. Sony Abraham and Rev. Shiju Philip Principal St. Thomas, Hardag. A welcome speech was presented by the vice-chairman Tanman Raj. This was followed by the welcome dance by students of std. 6th and std. 7th. There were a variety of competitions including spellbee, storytelling, recitation, dance, song, mono-acting, instrumental etc.
Participants, winners, audience members and the organizer all of them enjoyed the whole week equally. The program concluded here with the National Anthem.
It will only be apt to extend my whole hearted thanks to our Principal, Vice Principal for their initiative and encouragement, all the teachers associated, office staffs, maintenance committee, House Captions and Vice Captions and all the members of the Green House for their active support and cooperation in conducting the programme. I would like to conclude this report with the famous lines by J.G. Whittier:
"Life is strange with its twists and turns
As every one of us sometimes learns
And many a failure comes about
When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don’t give up though the pace seems slow-
You may succeed with another blow.
Success is failure turned inside out-
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell just how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far;
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit-
It’s when things seem worst that you must not quit."
