Christmas Gathering 2024 was celebrated on 21st December in ST. THOMAS SCHOOL, DHURWA with great pomp and show. A set of beautiful programs enhancing the real meaning of Christmas was showcased by pupils and teachers.
The day started with a prayer to Almighty and after seeking his blessings we commenced with the programs. Lighting of the sacred lamp by our Respected Father Principal and our Vice-Principal Ma’am and others in charges led to delivering of the Welcome Speech by Amy Rogers of class VIII. This was followed by Bible Reading in English by Mili Michelle Kujur of class VIII and in Hindi by Samarth Yash Khalkho of class VII.
The Nativity Play was showcased by pupils of class VI to IX reflecting the true meaning of Christmas and importance of Christmas for different people from different aspects of life.
Our Principal , Father Reverend Dr. M. O. Oommen Jr. and our Vice-Principal Mrs. Susan Oommen Ma’am enlighted the gathering on the true spirit of Christmas and the significance of the gifts in Christmas through their speeches. Soulful Christmas carols were presented by the pupils of classes VI to IX. This was followed by the dance on Jingle Bells and the arrival of Santa Claus. Our audience of pupils of Classes II to IX welcomed Santa wholeheartedly and danced on the tune of Jingle Bells.
The Vote of Thanks was delivered by Miss Annie Shipra Tete the co-incharge of the Gathering to recognize the efforts of pupils and teachers to make this program a resounding success.
The program ended with the closing song ‘Silent Night ‘ and Father’s Benediction.
A short program for teachers and staff of ST. Thomas School, Dhurwa began with a
welcome Speech by Mrs. Reshu Sinha the overall program incharge followed by ‘Secret Santa’ where teachers and staff exchanged gifts with their secret friends and collected cakes and cards from our Respected Father Principal and Vice-Principal Ma’am. The Christmas Carol ‘Oh come, All Ye Faithful’ instigated the joy of Christmas and ‘Silent Night’ filled us with the vibe of Christmas. The day ended with dance, fun and frolic and thanking the Almighty. Christmas is sharing love and showing gratitude for all the help we receive from our fellow beings. Thus we had a lovely Christmas Gathering –2024.
